A trip to Kuala Lumpur will simply not be complete without a visit to the Menara KL!Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, Kuala Lumpur's business and entertainment district, the Tower is perched at 421 metres/1,403 feet. Bukit Nanas itself, where the tower is built, is 94 metres above sea level. The Tower is the second tallest tower in Asia today. The Tower complex comprises a 3 level basement. The lower ground floor houses the control/maintenance room and a water reservoir for fire fighting. At the upper ground floor, an 86 metres long pedestrian mall adjoins the main entrance featuring a reflective pool in its centre. The facilities include outlet shops, a mini-theatre, an amphitheatre, a fast-food restaurant and a prayer-room.Two lifts provide access to the top of the tower in approximately 1 minute and have a capacity of 800 persons per hour. Visitors will find an observation platform on the first level and a revolving restaurant on the second level. The whole tower head is cladded in glass (double-glazed with gas infilled) arranged in the traditional Islamic form of the "muqarnas". With its unique architectural heritage, Menara KL has become a prime tourist attraction in the capital city.
